AncestralHistory’s database research began in 2012 and continues to grow. At a minimum, the index is updated quarterly. Currently, AncestralHistory has collected a large database of ancestral accounts spanning many years. Large cities have plenty of history, but most of the AncestralHistory locations are small to medium sized cities, towns, and counties in the United States. If you have an interest in a large city, our researchers can help. Foreign places are emerging with each update. For instance, there are accounts in Mexico, Puerto Rico, China, Cuba, Canada, England, Japan, Bernicia, France, Italy, Austria, and Russia.

Organizations include Civil War regiments, railroads, private businesses, colleges, governments, and Indian tribes.

Ronald D Berkebile – President

By training, Ron is an economist and earned his degree at Old Dominion University. Prior to receiving it, he was a United States Air Force Command and Control Specialist stationed in Europe and later a retail district manager. After finishing his studies, he managed and directed a college management degree program and was subsequently recruited as a municipal budget analyst and urban economist. Working with a fellow economist, they created an innovative methodology for estimating urban financial scenarios. The model was internationally recognized. The methodology was published and benchmarked by the Government Finance Officers Association. With a spiritual passion for understanding human behavior and a natural desire to develop solutions for overcoming complex issues, he discovered genealogy’s power for satisfying both. In 1996, Ron began recording his genealogy, discovered other family members with additional information, and received his genealogy certification. Other family members shared unheard family stories. This further enhanced his genealogical curiosity and sense of discovery. While passionately discussing his stories, friends and colleagues also expressed a desire to know their ancestral background. Recognizing a potential business opportunity for enhancing others’ family histories, Ron invested his time, effort, and finances into AncestralHistory. Today, he continues to enjoy the personal satisfaction of discovering ancient family members.

Vice President of Media and Communications

Tammy is co-founder of Dominion Scientific Analytics, LLC. Her operational responsibilities include webpage design, administration, and update facilitation. Prior to founding the company, she marketed and sold software programs at national conferences. Tammy comes from a family of genealogists, and she continues the work her parents began. In 1997, she discovered Civil War soldiers on her mother’s side of the family. This fanned her genealogical embers. Her ancestral soldiers were involved in prominent battles, endured injuries, and preserved their army’s existence. Today, she is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and continues to work on her family lineage.  She is passionate about knowing her family’s history. According to Tammy, “Genealogy is more than just finding names. Discovering family member histories is satisfying and exciting. We, at AncestralHistory, fill this void.”
